About Your Guide
Hi, I’m Lucas!
I first came to Alaska at 19, drawn by a summer job in a small fly fishing village called Cooper Landing. It was there that I picked up a fly rod for the first time—and I was instantly hooked. Since then, fly fishing has been my passion and career.
It was in Alaska that I met my wife—a wonderful woman from the Rogue River Valley—and it only made sense for us to start our family there. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have fallen in love with a girl from the region, allowing me to pursue my passion year-round.
Over the years, I’ve been fortunate enough to learn from and fish with some of the best in the business. I’ve spent 16 years guiding on the Kenai River during the summer season, chasing rainbow trout, Dolly Varden, sockeye salmon, and silver salmon. When I return to the Rogue River Valley in Oregon, I guide for summer and winter steelhead as well as trout—enjoying the beauty of the river with my growing family.
I’m a U.S. Coast Guard Certified Captain and CPR/First Aid Certified, so you can trust that you’re in good hands on the water. Guiding isn’t just a job for me—it’s my passion. Every trip is a chance to share this amazing sport, meet new people, and help anglers progress and grow.
I work hard to customize each trip to suit your specific goals—whether it’s fishing hard all day in search of that legendary catch or floating the river at a relaxed pace while taking in the scenery. My goal is to provide a high-quality experience built on patience, kindness, and a commitment to helping you become a better angler.
